Government regulates a lot of things, basically everything that might have need of certification, licensing or formal approval that it can stamp its authority on. No professional or group of professionals in any field could work or be considered legal without these stamp of approval. It is not just a stamp these days but entire organized processes that assure quality and reliability.

In many fields there are often too many fuzzy definitions which companies and government are trying to form up with more proper methods or processes. The PMP application for example is a process taking time and care to accomplish a formal set of documented requirements. These will be the basis for any person to get the right as a true professional for any field.

PMP stands for Project Management Professional, something that once did not have properly defined or assured terms. It was mostly working along some generally defined business or commercial terms. Usually the process for regulation and application was something that companies or businesses worked over on their own.

The need to regulate things could really necessitate proper licensing processes any pro may aspire to. These processes may take the jobs to another new level that makes both practical and relevant. This is a practice that makes any work done in this field to have an authority vested by government since it is beholden to do so.

This authority is the thing vested on it by the government process for formal documentation. The fees and charges, usually only a minimum to address physical items and work hours, will be worth it. While the process will take time, that is something which many can work for so that they have the needed authority to execute their responsibilities.

Pros in management often need to work out the foundation of making their jobs effective. These may have limits as to their efficiency and workability because managing things needs more. This is usually true for those projects, because they need the traction to work and other items that may be necessary for making projects.

Managing things is simply a too general designation that does not lend itself to real specifics. What a person can be managing can be anything and his specialty may not be there at all but reliant on experience and some skills. While these are good enough for a lot of purposes, focusing a job in relation to projects has been found efficient.

Projects could be among the more essential stuff a company may be able to achieve. These cold have a lot at stake, from constructing facilities to remodeling or rebranding to branding and addressing the distribution and marketing. Each of these might have need of specific experts although when they are only occasionally needed one manager doing supervision will do.

This is the enforcer or the lead man of sorts for all progressive projects tasked to move the company a step or two ahead. The need is not for certain processes but a defined process that is relevant to a company and its business. Thus the project manager who is licensed could make any positive movement in this way something that is truly effective.
