Important Information Fats To Eat On Keto

By Shirley Howard

A ketogenic diet also referred to as keto is a form of food measure that deals with taking foods containing low carbohydrates and calories but higher volumes of oils and fats. It includes taking oils either in raw or in cooked form as well as taking proteins in large amounts. The main objective of this measure is to enhance production of energy in the body through metabolic processes without using glucose as the raw material. It allows for the body to synthesize oils and undergo various chemical breakdowns to generate energy. This is why fats to eat on keto should be taken in considerable large amounts.

One of the applications of these types of eating habits is weight reduction and maintenance. When you take high-carb foods, glucose is converted into glycerol which is stored in the body as adipose tissue. This is concerned with causing fat deposits and accumulation in the body which creates conditions like overweight and obesity. They are also concerned with protruding bellies. These conditions are risky as they are believed to cause cardiovascular complications and other coronary disorders.

It is concerned with reducing epilepsy. This diet requires a lot of oils intake. The reason behind is that breakdown and oxidation of these oils produce less energy as compared to glucose. Therefore, in order for the body not to be energy deficient, they have to be taken in large volumes.

On the other hand, fat is organic compounds containing carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen as building materials. However, these lipids usually occur as liquids or solids. Also, they are broken to release energy. Again, they are available in both unsaturated and saturated acidic forms.

Due to this facts, they can cause hazardous effects that can be a threat to life when taken in the wrong manner. One such side effect is causing heart infections and disorders, cholesterol accumulation in blood vessels among other effects. They are also believed to cause certain forms of cancer.

Saturated oils come from different sources. The best oils to take include oils from coconut, palm, red meat, tallow and eggs among other eatable products. They are said to be stable and durable. However, these products need to be cooked first before you can eat them for better breakdown and synthesis.

Medium-chain triglycerides or MCT are compounds sub-classified from saturated oil group but are readily absorbed into the body cells and their oxidation is faster leading to release of high energy levels. This makes them be ideal for athletes and sportsmen. However, their availability comes in small amounts in products from palm, coconut, and butter.

The other type is the monounsaturated oil compounds. These are oils rich in omega nine and other minerals. In most cases, they are consumed in their raw state. These oils are ideal in eliminating heart-related disorders as well as serum formation. Mainly, they are obtained from olive, avocado, macadamia among other nut oils. Polyunsaturated, on the other hand, are important in brain development due to the presence of omega three and six found in them. However, taking these compounds require large intakes of water.
