By Olivia Cross

In every part of this world water is life and life without it its difficult to survive. In the ancient days, most major cities were founded next to a reliable source of it such as rivers, lakes or an oasis. As times and tides kept on changing and the population kept on rising a good number of people migrated to locations where the commodity was scarce and since necessity is the mother of invention they invented Texas water well drilling projects with the aim of ending this calamity.

Apparently, rain is a constant factor in most parts of the world but its intensity and frequency differs so much that some regions have excess rains while some have little or at times no rain. The latter is true for the people of Texas. The inadequacy of surface water in Texas leads to the people to have to drill their own wells in order to have a daily supply of the commodity for their own use.

The diversity in the kind of wells leads to a diversity in the methods used to fetch the water from the wells. Narrow wells encouraged the use of pumps since no other vessel could be used. While some used pumps others used containers and jars, this method was suitable in areas where wells are wide and its width could allow the usage of containers. Depth was also a factor to consider in the wells, some people used buckets attached to ropes in order to access the commodity which was a commonality in this state.

From one region to another, the factors that affected the digging of boreholes were different and each locality faced a peculiar challenge. Texas had its own set of challenges like the nature of its land, the municipal councils regulations were also a factor that affected the digging of these wells as they are among the key factors to be determined before a bore hole was drilled.

The local municipal also determine the cost of getting a license for the hole, they determine how safe it is at the site and how fit for consumption the water is to the locals. The municipal council determines how safe the bore hole will be for the locals; if it has some safety hazards to locals. They also determine the level of mineralization of the commodity.

Apart from purchase and approval of a license being one of the costs, the other costs incurred are the cost of transportation of machinery from the company site to the actual site, the drilling costs and other miscellaneous expenses are also inclusive of the total cost of digging the pit. The rock texture will also determine the expense of digging of the well since they vary in intensity.

A well for people in Texas proves advantageous since they live in a state that is dry and this commodity is hard to come by. When they drill their own wells they have an advantage since they can use the waters from the wells for other purposes like gardening. They have the advantage of not having to pay a monthly bills since the bore hole belongs to them. They also have the advantage of no chlorine in their waters which is a commonality in municipal state water.

Owning a water well in Texas is not all glam since it comes with its own challenges whereby one has to acquire a license from the authorities which is hectic, and its also expensive to maintain but also brings a lot of benefits which makes them worth the effort.
