Truck Wraps: Could QR Codes Be Integrated?

By Paula Hess

It goes without saying that we are living in a time when smartphones are practically a necessity. To me, they are some of the most helpful devices in the world and the fact that they are often described as handheld computers only helps to further this point along. There have been any elements that have come out of this mobile age, QR codes being just one of many examples. However, one can argue that QR codes could be integrated into out-of-home marketing efforts, truck wraps and all.

QR codes, as you can probably imagine, are quite common in this day and age. Also known as Quick Response codes, these were originally used in order to bolster the automotive world in Japan but have since grown in order to include a number of other industries. In this day and age, they are most commonly used for the purpose of leading individuals to certain websites. Each of these codes are made differently, even though they may appear similar on the surface.

If you want to talk about why QR codes are used these days, it's a matter of instant gratification. No one wants to shift through various pages on Google in order to find a business' website, which is where the aforementioned codes are able to come into play. Basically, they can help to direct people to the locations that they should be to find information. Without these codes, many people wouldn't be able to find the platforms for little-known entities.

It's possible that QR codes can be brought into truck wraps but there are a few ideas to keep in mind. First of all, the codes themselves cannot lead to broken or nonexistent pages, which is perhaps the one feature that invalidates their overall worth. Secondly, they must be printed with a level of quality intact, which is where the capabilities of companies the likes of JMR Graphics can prove to be effective. Their higher levels of printing will ensure that modern-day smartphones can pick up on QR codes with greater ease.

As you can see, QR codes have their advantages and very few will be able to overlook them. However, it's important to keep in mind that these must be integrated with the utmost effectiveness intact. As stated earlier, this can come in various forms, whether it's a matter of proper link direction or what have you. If these are taken into account, though, there is no doubt that QR codes will be able to hold their own and, potentially, become part of truck wraps in the future.
